According to insider reports, Nolan was “disappointed” by Warner Bros.’ decision to release Barbie the same weekend as Oppenheimer, which was distributed by Universal Pictures.
“Nolan is upset that Warner Bros. scheduled Barbie release on the same weekend as Oppenheimer, especially because mid-July has been known in the industry as ‘Nolan’s weekend’ for years.” wrote Insider, quoted on Friday 14 July 2023.
